Avoiding basic errors in IELTS Writing
As a former IELTS examiner, one of the first things I looked for in IETS Writing Task 1 and IELTS Writing Task 2 is subject/verb agreement. If I saw that candidates had made this 'basic' error, then I would find it difficult to give them more than Band 5 in Grammatical Range and Accuracy. When you are writing about numbers, for example in Task 1 IELTS Writing, you are probably going to use expressions like 'a number of' and 'the proportion of' so you need to know when to use a singular and when to use a plural verb. Watch this video to find out how to use them correctly and make sure that the IELTS examiner isn't going to give you a lower band score for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
