How to give reasons in IELTS Speaking and IELTS Writing (for Bands 7+)

Write your awesome label here.
As a former IELTS examiner and teacher of IELTS for more years than I care to remember, when marking IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking, I am always looking for 'reasons' to give an IELTS candidate a particular grade. When I see words like 'good' or 'important' these are 'red flags' and I immediately think 'this could be an IELTS 5.0 candidate'. There are so many more ways we can say or write 'a good reason' or 'the most important reason'.

In this video, I go through lots of complex, band 7+ synonyms that you could use instead. I also give examples of sentences that could be used in IELTS Writing. You'll also learn a few Band 7+ (often Band 9) words and phrases that will be useful for IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking too. Remember, the IELTS exam is basically a huge vocabulary test and the most language you know the better.
